June 2024 – Honours Health Science student Alexander Mocanu has been selected as a recipient of the 2024 TD Scholarships for Community Leadership and will receive up to $70,000 to cover tuition and living expenses while he pursues his university studies in medicine.

Alexander was one of 20 students in Canada to receive the TD award, which recognizes outstanding commitment to community leadership by a student in their final year of high school or a pre-university program.

During his studies, Alexander helped establish DeBonGré, a free tutoring program that helps newcomers to Canada and their families improve their French language skills. He also regularly volunteered at a local hospital.

The College is proud to see Alexander’s community involvement and exemplary leadership rewarded with such a prestigious scholarship.
