Program Highlights

Get ready for a hands-on experience where creativity has a real-world impact. Our multidisciplinary program will help you build the technical skills and confidence to bring bold ideas to life in painting, film, writing, curation and digital media.

Studying ALC at Marianopolis means exploring a wide range of creative and academic fields, from visual arts, creative writing, and filmmaking to art history, cinema and literature. You will sharpen your critical thinking, ask big questions that guide your creative work, and be mentored by teachers with experience in both academia and cultural creation as you develop your own path and voice.

Because the program is small and supportive, you will quickly get to know your peers and professors, forming a close-knit community where ideas are shared and projects take shape. You will also learn how to connect your work with an audience. The second-year Creative Workshop course takes you through the process of assembling a portfolio (in your choice of medium) that can be used when applying to university programs and for other professional opportunities like grants, exhibitions, publications, and festivals. You will present your creative work at different venues, including the College’s annual ArtsFest, a two-week festival that includes readings, screenings, installations, and an exhibition.

This rigorous, diversified pre-university program cultivates your imagination, leadership abilities, and intellect. You will graduate with skills that will make an impact wherever creativity matters.
