Marianopolis thanks Director General Christian Corno for his leadership and dedication

November 2025 – It is with sincere gratitude that the College community bids farewell to Director General Christian Corno as he takes on a new leadership role at Villa Maria after nearly a quarter century at Marianopolis.

With master’s degrees in economics and education from UQAM and Université de Montréal, Christian first joined Marianopolis in 1998 as a faculty member, before serving as a professional staff member who was instrumental in the creation of the College’s learning resources centre. After taking up leadership roles at Champlain Regional College as Dean of Academic Resources then Director of Studies, he returned to Marianopolis in 2012 as Academic Dean and was appointed Director General in 2016. His many roles within the post-secondary network included serving as President of L’Association des collèges privés du Québec from 2018 to 2023 during a challenging period marked by the pandemic and the French Language Charter.

Under Christian’s leadership, Marianopolis has flourished. Student success metrics have been unmatched, academic programs have been enhanced, and the College’s reputation for excellence has continued to attract the brightest minds to our community. Solid finances have enabled the creation of generous scholarships and bursaries and significant investments in our historic campus, most notably the acquisition of the property from the Congrégation de Notre-Dame (CND).

Christian leaves a lasting legacy to Marianopolis and an indelible mark on our community to which he will always belong. We wish him great success in his next endeavour as Director General of Villa Maria, a neighbouring institution and feeder school that shares the CND heritage with Marianopolis.

At a recent special meeting of the College’s Board of Governors, Academic Dean Eric Lozowy was named Interim Director General until further notice.
