February 20, 2025 – Students in the Marianopolis Investment Management Program had a chance to compete in the HEConomie pitch competition last month, earning an impressive third place against students from some of Canada’s top university business schools.

Hosted at Université de Montréal, the competition challenges teams of students to develop investment recommendation presentations on publicly traded North American companies, backed by industry analysis and company overviews.

Each pitch presentation includes an investment thesis, financial modeling, statement analysis and risk assessment components.

Members of the Marianopolis team – William Carvalho Guertin, Philippe Peides, Andrew Hounsell and Bogdan Raru – earned third place in the final round, after presenting their work to a panel of 12 judges from leading Canadian financial institutions and an audience of more than 100 other participants.
