April 29, 2025 – Marianopolis students got an inside look at Quebec politics last week in a conversation with a sitting member of the National Assembly.

Marianopolis Class of 1990 graduate and Westmount – St-Louis MNA Jennifer Maccarone was at the College to participate in a Q&A with students on the theme “Politics and Public Service.”

The discussion was led by Health Science student Aly Shalaby, a member of the Marianopolis Politics Club, who earlier this year took part in a parliamentary simulation at the Assemblée Nationale.

Ms. Maccarone spoke about her work as an MNA and her role as Official Opposition Critic across several portfolios. Students came away with a deeper understanding of political life and the tangible ways young people can engage in the democratic process. The College is grateful to Ms. Maccarone for so generously sharing her time and experience with our students.
