Application to Become a Tutor
Marianopolis College

TUTOR APPLICATION FORM
If you are interested in becoming a tutor next semester, please complete this application form, which will be forwarded to the appropriate Discipline Coordinator. Only selected applicants will be contacted for interviews.
Overview of the Project
Marianopolis College has been able to offer peer tutoring to our students since 2000. This initiative is one of several projects of the Marianopolis Plan for Success and is made possible thanks to grants obtained from the Ministry of Education. Peer Tutoring activities take place in the Learning Resources Centre, room F-317 and provides computers, textbooks, sample exercises and other useful material for our tutors and clients.
Two categories of tutors are part of the Project. Paid tutors receive $12.50 per hour (+ paid training) and are selected on the basis of their strong academic performance and interpersonal skills. Other tutors are not paid but receive credit as they are enrolled in the English Peer Tutoring course (Fall semester).
We currently offer the service in 9 disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Economics, English, French, Mathematics-Arts, Mathematics-Science, Physics, and Quantitative Methods). Some 70 tutors are working with us every semester. Roughly 300 students per year use the service.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Only students who will still be attending Marianopolis during the semester that they wish to tutor are eligible to apply. (In some cases, however, former peer tutors may become Alumni tutors in the Sciences; please see the relevant discipline coordinator for more details.)
2. If you would like to tutor English, you should contact Zsolt Alapi (Z.ALAPI@marianopolis.edu) directly for details.
3. If you are applying to tutor French courses, please complete your application in French.
4. If you wish, you may apply to tutor more than one discipline. You may either check all relevant courses on one application (the complete application will be sent to each of the discipline coordinators involved) or you can submit separate forms for each discipline (for example, if you wish to customize the information you are including). In either case, please rank your preferences in Step 2 of Section B. You must rank all the courses for which you are applying, regardless of whether or not you are submitting the applications separately.
