Enriching activities

With student success at the heart of every endeavour at Marianopolis, the College proudly offers various enriching activities designed to affirm the College’s commitment to excellence, student success and personal development. Expert Marianopolis faculty oversee these official, College-sponsored activities as part of the Marianopolis Plan for Success 2015-2020, whose aim is to improve academic success, enhance students’ sense of engagement at the College and prepare students to make sound choices in their pursuit of university studies.

With almost 100 student clubs which any student can join, life outside the classroom at Marianopolis is as diverse as it is inclusive. Marianopolis is the only college to hold a universal break, also called Activity Period, twice a week. Activity Period is an opportunity for students to hear from world-renowned guest speakers, play intramural sports, participate in clubs and build lifelong connections. To learn more about clubs, contact Student Life Animators Adam Reider (A-115, ext. 311) or Trudy Ste. Croix (A-115, ext. 293)

With a complement of physical education facilities and 11 intercollegiate teams and two club teams, the College offers a wealth of opportunities for sports, athletics and recreational activities. Teams, clubs and classes have at their disposal the College’s state-of-the-art sports complex and go to nearby Mount Royal and the Laurentians and Adirondacks for outdoor activities throughout the year.

The Marianopolis mascot is the Demon. Its namesake teams have been competing at the CEGEP level for a quarter of a century. Many of the coaches are former Demons. Marianopolis athletes are honoured in all-star teams and with champion banners such as the RSEQ’s Éthique Sportive.

Every Marianopolis student is eligible to join or create an intramural team. From floor hockey, to soccer, basketball, volleyball and badminton, students have a variety of activities to choose from.
