Clubs and athletics
Marianopolis is the only college with nearly 100 student clubs and a universal break, also called Activity Period, twice a week. Activity Period is an opportunity for students to hear from world-renowned guest speakers, participate in club activities and build lifelong connections. To learn more about clubs, contact Student Life Animators Adam Reider (A-162, ext. 311) or Trudy St. Croix (A-162, ext. 293).
The Marianopolis Student Union is the College’s student government and official representative of the student body. A variety of elected positions are available each spring. The president and vice president serve on the Marianopolis Board of Governors. For more information, contact Trudy St. Croix.
With a complement of physical education facilities and 11 intercollegiate teams and two club teams, the College offers a wealth of opportunities for sports, athletics and recreational activities. Teams and clubs have at their disposal the College’s state-of-the-art sports complex, fitness centre and practice field.
The Marianopolis mascot is the Demon. Its namesake teams have been competing at the CEGEP level for more than a quarter of a century. Many of the coaches are former Demons. Marianopolis athletes are honoured in all-star teams and with champion banners such as the RSEQ’s Éthique Sportive.
Every Marianopolis student is eligible to join or create an intramural team. From floor hockey and soccer, to basketball, volleyball and badminton, students have a variety of activities to choose from.
