Double DECs are 3-year, double concentration programs in which you earn two CEGEP diplomas: one in Music and one in Science, Social Science or Creative Arts, Literature & Languages. In each of the 6 semesters, you take courses from the General Education component, from the Music Program, and from the chosen concentration.

Who Should Take It?

The Double DECs are designed for students who: want to pursue their music studies, but wish to broaden their knowledge and experience in another field. know they want to pursue one field at university, but want to continue studying a broad range of subjects; are not yet sure which area to pursue at university and want to keep their options open by completing two diplomas.

Where Does It Lead?

The double concentration in Science and Music prepares you for further studies in Music or Science programs at university, including Medicine. You can choose to follow any of the Arts-based programs at University as well. The double concentration in Social Science and Music prepares you for studies in the Music and Social Science fields, including Administration, Anthropology, Economics, Geography, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, General Arts, Education, Law, and Social Work, among others. About Applying

In addition to the general application requirements described on the Admissions web pages, students applying for admission to the Double DECs must meet the admission pre-requisites of both programs.
