An integral part of Marianopolis
College’s annual arts celebration, the ArtsFest concert reflects the calibre of
musicians educated at Marianopolis and the College's rich music-education history. No other school offers budding musicians
the ability to take private music lessons and ensembles at McGill
University’s Schulich School of Music, one of the world’s top-ranked
music faculties.
Marianopolis is honoured to have shared this unique
musical evening with the community at large. The concert will include
performances from, among others.

Sister Mary O’Neill Music Scholarship Fund
This year’s concert was dedicated to the memory of Sister
Mary O’Neill, CND, PhD in Music Education, who launched the College’s
BA degree with a major in Music in 1964. Five years later, she oversaw
the introduction of the diplôme d’études collégiales (DEC) program and
the beginning of Marianopolis’ affiliation with McGill University’s
Faculty of Music. Working tirelessly for close to two decades, she
officially retired at the age of 66, only to return for 12 more years
of dedicated service as music consultant.
An outstanding musician, scholar and innovator, she was a
deeply caring person whose influence impacted the lives and career
direction of many students. She died last summer at the age of 96.
Marianopolis has established the Sister Mary O’Neill Music
Scholarship Fund to offer music scholarships to talented students. A
fund of at least $100,000 would make available almost $5,000 in music
scholarships each year. Thank you for any amount you are able to contribute
toward fostering the growth of emerging young musicians.
