Financial Assistance
What Type of Financial Aid is Available?
Financial Aid is available in the form of loans and bursaries from the Quebec Provincial Government and full or partial tuition credits from the College itself.
It has been, and continues to be the policy of Marianopolis that no student who has the desire and ability to attend the College should be prevented from doing so for financial reasons.
Who Can Apply for Financial Aid?
Any Marianopolis student can apply for Financial Aid. However, eligibility is determined by a number of factors including parents' income, size of family and student's income from summer and part-time employment.
What is a Marianopolis Tuition Credit?
A full or partial tuition credit is awarded on the basis of financial need. It never has to be repaid. The tuition credit is intended to help a student meet a financial problem which would make it difficult or impossible for him/her to attend the College. The amount of financial aid is generally calculated on the basis of parental income, family size and the student's own income from summer or part-time employment. However, in considering tuition credits, the College takes into account any special circumstances which may apply to an individual student.
The tuition credits awarded by Marianopolis are meant to supplement rather than to replace Government of Quebec Student Loans and Bursaries, and students applying for assistance from the College must be eligible for and must also apply to the Government Loans and Bursaries Program.
When Do I Apply for Tuition Credit?
The deadline for submission of Marianopolis Tuition Credit Applications is March 1 and August 31 for the Autumn term and January 31 for students beginning their studies in the Winter term. Applications are available in February from high school guidance counsellors or the Financial Aid Officer located in Room A-269A or by calling 514-931-8792, extension 259.
