Honours Social Science
Who can apply?
If you’re an outstanding student, we encourage you to apply for acceptance into Honours Social
Science. It’s a more challenging but ultimately more rewarding program. Simply fill out the Application Form and include it with your Marianopolis application. You can also apply to
Honours Social Science after you’ve begun your first semester at Marianopolis.
The Honours Social Science Certificate is granted to those students who have enrolled in Honours, maintained the required marks, and completed the curricular and extracurricular requirements.
Curricular requirements:
As an Honours Social Science student, you’ll be expected to take an enrichment
course and one compulsory Social Science course as a group.
Extracurricular requirements:
Several times each semester, you will also participate in activities such as:
- Attending guest lectures
- Panel discussions involving students and faculty
- Community service requiring Social Science skills and knowledge
We also encourage you to complete one of Marianopolis’s college-wide certificates: the Law and
Social Justice certificate, the International Studies certificate or the Third World certificate.
